Resource Description and Access (RDA) is the new cataloging standard that has replaced the Anglo-American Cataloguing Rules, 2nd edition (AACR2). This workshop for new catalogers and para-professionals will focus on what RDA records look like in the catalog and the key ways they differ from AACR2 records.  Since the Functional Requirements for Bibliographic Records (FRBR) is the underlying conceptual model of RDA, we will explore the FRBR entities and why FRBR is an important part of understanding the evolution of the library catalog.  We will also cover how to encode RDA using the Machine-Readable Cataloging (MARC) standard.
