LACONI Technical Services Section program

RDA Authority Control Cataloging with Robert L. Maxwell

Good authority work is as important as good bibliographic description in the current and future cataloging environment. This program will show you how to construct and understand RDA authority records, including records for persons, corporate bodies, and works and expressions, using RDA and MARC. You are encouraged to bring your own laptop if you wish to follow along in the RDA Toolkit.

Robert L. Maxwell is the Ancient Languages and Special Collections Cataloger at Brigham Young University and the author of FRBR: A Guide for the Perplexed; Maxwell’s Guide to Authority Work; and Maxwell’s Handbook for RDA.

The cost of this program (which includes lunch), for those libraries that have renewed their membership for the January 1, 2015 to December 31, 2015 year, is $20.00. If your library has not paid for membership for the January 1, 2015 to December 31, 2015 period, the cost of attendance is $25.00
