LACONI Technical Services Section Cataloging AV Boot Camp

9:30 a.m.-3:30 pm.       Program (includes lunch break)
A tour of the Technical Services Department will be offered.

A refresher workshop in cataloging AV, this program will focus on the nuts and bolts of cataloging DVDs, Blu-Rays, music and spoken word, and video games in MARC following RDA principles. This program will include an in-depth discussion of the MARC tags and subfields for AV materials.

Speaker: Bobby Bothmann, Professor of Metadata & Emerging Technologies Librarian at Minnesota State University, Mankato and an adjunct lecturer at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. In 2012 recipient of the Nancy B. Olson Award from OLAC. He assisted Ms. Olson in the re-write of Cataloging of Audiovisual Materials and Other Special Materials for its fifth edition and is currently working on an RDA companion to the fifth edition.

Please note that there is a registration fee which includes lunch: Members $30.00; Non-members $40.00.

Cancellations with refunds are possible up to a week before the program.
